Newborn Visits

Pediatric Partners of Augusta is the best private practice in the CSRA to find board certified pediatricians and board certified subspecialist pediatricians. We know all new moms want their babies to have the best newborn pediatrician, and we’re here to offer the best experience possible.

During your first newborn pediatrician visit, which should be 24-48 hours after discharge, our pediatricians will check the infant’s heart functions, eyes, ears, weight, appetite and hydration. If you are a breastfeeding mother, our pediatricians will check to make sure the baby is not jaundiced, that he or she is latching properly and breastfeeding well.

New moms usually have many questions for their newborn baby doctor when it comes to breastfeeding, and we are happy to have a physician who is a lactation, specialist, as well as another staff member who is a lactation consultant. Having them a part of our team makes it easier for new moms to really learn and understand the ins and outs of breastfeeding. They’re able to help answer questions about techniques, frequency, whether the baby is getting enough and other questions our visiting moms have.

We’re also so excited to introduce our new breastfeeding room at our Evans location. This peaceful and tranquil room is the perfect place for moms to nurse during their visit to our office.

New moms can find comfort on their new journey by choosing Pediatric Partners as their pediatrician. Each month, we offer Baby 101 classes for expecting and new moms to help them learn more about taking care of their new babies and to answer their questions. We offer an after-hours clinic that is open 365 days a year because we know sickness doesn’t know if there’s a holiday or special occasion coming up. Including our lactation specialist, our offices house a pediatric allergist and neurologist to serve our patients.

Pediatric Partners has two locations to better serve our patients. Our Evans office is located at 411 Town Park Blvd., and our downtown Augusta office is located at 1303 d’Antignac Street, Suite 2600. If you’re a new mom with questions, please feel free to call us at 706-854-2500, visit our website pedpartners.com, or follow our Pediatric Partners of Augusta Facebook page.
